WINES FOR THE SEASON

Earlier this week we took a little time out of our crazy schedule to call in some friends of LWI and do some really important research. Hopping over to our neighbor, Graft Wine Shop, we grabbed a few bottles and did a little tasting of some of our favorite wines for fall.

Vino from Graft, Amber Glasses from Shop Domestics

Our tasters: Brendan + Bryson (resident handymen, installation geniuses, comedic wine connoisseurs), Casie (procurement specialist + pinot enthusiast) and me, Lauren, (just in a need of a glass after the week it's been).

The Graft guys, Femi and Miles paired us with the perfect options for the season and here's why we love them:

CASIE'S FAVE : GUIDO MARSELLA FIANO DI AVELLINO

This is a white with a strong mineral quality. It's bright but tempered by the southern Italian vineyard's volcanic soil that weaves a smokiness perfect for crisp fall evenings by an outdoor fire pit. Especially great here in the south were this time of year is still very temperate. Also a fantastic pairing with any type of rustic charcuterie or cheeseboard.

BRENDAN'S FAVE : BARDA PINOT NOIR

We all agreed this is a perfect house party Pinot Noir. From Argentina, there's a pure, perfect fruitiness of plum and raspberry balanced deliciously with sandalwood and hazelnuts. This is one you definitely want to have on hand at all times for a glass by itself or along with a lighter meal.

BRYSON'S FAVE : CHATEAU MUSAR CUVEE JEUNE RED

Off the bat, this Lebanese young wine, full of berry notes, sounds more like a spring or summer selection, but we all agreed that the acidity packs a punch and has a full-bodied profile. This one is the perfect glass to enjoy with a hearty fall meal.

LAUREN'S FAVE : BENATI ENTA ROSSO

Another southern Italian wine, this one has a beautiful earthy, fruity balance, described to us as "old world." It's silky, savory quality and a hint of smokiness thanks to volcanic soil, makes it memorable. Would definitely recommend paired with a warm, rustic meal (candlelight recommended).

Not going to lie, this was a fun post to write and a theme we'll carry into each season! Cheers to full glasses, full hearts + cozy sweaters. Happy fall y'all!
